Mine also has 1280 x 800 resolution. It took a bit of getting used to. I had to go into the font and display settings to get the text big enough for me to read. The primary advantage of it is for movies, because they look better with the wider screen. The primary disadvantage is with some games, because you can't run them full screen anymore unless you want distorted images. Since I watch a lot of movies but hardly ever play games, this works out for me.
