Ookay. So the exams are over...don't know all the results yet,but they're not good. What's worse is I am not sure I want things to work out here.I kinda really want to start something else. That's what lead to this pathetic stage of things actually.*sighs*We'll see what happens :[.

Also I finally have time on my hands*l*.So I made myself a new icon(run,Ray,run ;) ).Which lead to the making of another icon:

which, aside from not being too good,is too big :P and trying to decrease the size it turned out like that

which I'm not very satisfied with, but I don't know what to do with that size :P.
Also I made these today

and

under the influence of [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl's post *g*.

I watched Hard Core Logo again the day before yesterday.Maybe I should have waited for a time when I wasn't so tired and downright sleepy at the end...Anyway I caught more things that second time *l*.I think reading fics also helped.Speaking of which,I need more HCL recs *makespuppydogeyesatflist*Please?:0)
I have to make some HCL icons...possibly a wallpaper, but I haven't tried to make one yet...
And I may have to not only finish the fourth DS season (but, but then it'll be over *sniff*),but re-watch at least some of the eps before I start working on that video I've been wanting to make for weeks now.
Argh it's so hot here!Maybe I'll go to the beach and plop in the sea now. It's a shame,I live in Varna and I've gone to the beach -one- time this year.Time to remedy that, yup.

Yay! No more exams.

The Paul Gross. [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl is on crack, isn't she? *g*

You have trouble understanding HCL? I'm with you here. It's really hard if English is not your first language. I'm thinking about getting a close captured copy.

HCL recs. Hm.
Read [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza's Bricked In. Read everything by [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza if you haven't yet. That's her fiction site.
And try [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl's HCL fic. And [livejournal.com profile] dsudis wrote one too.

Um. That's all for now. :)

[identity profile] brooklinegirl.livejournal.com 2005-07-28 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
*grins*

I'm not on crack! I'm just - admiring Paul Gross. Intently.

And yay! HCL. Uhm, I have a whole set of HCL/Headstones related posts here. Estrella has a great Ray Kowalski/Billy Tallent fic here. I have a handful of HCL fic recs here (Alex's "Snow Falling" is one of my all-time favorite fics.)

And I am deeply in love with that Ray running icon. It's mesmerizing.

I'm not on crack! I'm just - admiring Paul Gross. Intently.

Hey! I like people on crack! They are totally my favorite people. It's practically an expression of love.
So there.

*huffs off to read Estrellas Ray/Billy fic*

[identity profile] nyn17.livejournal.com 2005-07-28 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for the recs!:))(omg RayK/Billy?!*gulp**nyn's mind fills with...pictures*)
And I am deeply in love with that Ray running icon. It's mesmerizing. *g*Thanks.I've been meaning to make it for a while and I have to admit that I like watching it,too*l*.It's Ray!And he's Running!;))
Also, you like PG very enthusiasticly.Nothing wrong with that ;))!

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_divya_/ 2005-07-28 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Regalis, what's your first language? Not English? I would never have known. So, what is it about HCL that makes it hard to understand? ::curious::

Nyn, check out these HCL recs.

And I love the Ray running icons. Heeeee. ::kicks exams for you::

[identity profile] nyn17.livejournal.com 2005-07-28 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Nyn, check out these HCL recs
Ooh,thank you!!:))
*stomps over the exams**g*thanks ;)

[identity profile] c-regalis.livejournal.com 2005-07-28 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
It's German. And you would know if you could hear me talk. :)

And HCL... I can't really explain it. Almost everyone speaks pretty quickly. And often rather quietly too. But normally I don't have a problem with that.

I've never seen another movie that I found that difficult to understand, actually. I've seen it about six times, I think. (*g*) And I still don't understand everything.

*shrugs*

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_divya_/ 2005-07-28 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I ::HEART:: the German language. I seriously love the way it sounds. I studied it in high school and even dated a guy from Munich for a short time, but I retained NONE of it. ::sad:: It atrophies when you can't use it.

So what parts of HCL have you wondering? Also, is it the actual words they're saying that you can't understand, or is it the meaning of the words? Tell me which parts, and I'll try to enlighten you. *g*

::spams Nyn with LOVE::

[identity profile] nyn17.livejournal.com 2005-07-28 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Heheh,to quote(or,um at least approximately ;) ) [livejournal.com profile] c_regalis - if that's spamming,you can spam all you want anytime ;)).
It atrophies when you can't use it. Yes!That's exactly what happened to my German.I took German courses for a year and in the end was pretty good at it,but then I stopped using it and it went away :(.Although I must admit that I didn't like studying it or its sound(nothing personal!:]) too much and maybe that helped the forgetting process.Soon after that I got hooked up on Buffy through transcripts *cough*yeah what? ;] and realized they were airing it on Pro7 and I watched obsessively and a lot of the German came back -for the time-.
*l*I may watch HCL again to check if I still can't get anything and ask!:)

I ::HEART:: the German language.

Huh? That's something of a rarity. Most people don't like it too much. But hey, I'm not complaining here. :)

So what parts of HCL have you wondering? Also, is it the actual words they're saying that you can't understand, or is it the meaning of the words? Tell me which parts, and I'll try to enlighten you.

Oh, thank you. *beams* The get the meaning of the words if I understand them. So, it's the actual words that are the problem.
It's been a few weeks since I saw it the last time, so I can't come up with many things right now. But. *g* One thing I really need to know. When they are at Bucky's farm the film crew is waiting outside. What exactly does Joe say to Bruce when he comes outside. He did all this just to get Billy back? Is that right?
Oh, and another one. What does Bucky say to Billy when he gives him the guitar?

*joins in with the spamming*

well,no,not exactly trouble -understanding-,although they do speak quite quickly and proper articulation isn't their top priority *g*.But it was a bit overwhelming the first time and I'm not sure I registered everything that happenned then...I didn't pay enough attention to all the details at any case. It's true that when it's not in your first language, even if you speak it well,it's not always understandable enough the first time :].
And what is your first language then,if I may ask?
Yay,thanks for the recs,I've read only Bricked in(and some of [Unknown site tag] 's DS fics)!

It's worse, actually. I've seen more than once (about six times I think *g*). But I still don't understand everything.

And you may. :) It's German.

Almost everyone speaks pretty quickly. And often rather quietly too. yes,yes-quickly and quietly! For some reason,I need to hear foreign languages louder than I need to hear Bulgarian in order to catch everything.
And *slaps head* now I realize that I knew it was German-form when you put the Viper ep for download!Sorry,my brain was soup then*g*.

I read this whole thread through and found it fancinating. Number 1, I've seen HCL a number of times and I don't get all the dialog. I'm a native English speaker too. The DVD I have, the sound on it really sucks. Number 2, I love the German language. I was in the Army and stationed in German for 2 and a half years, back in the 1970s. Unfortunately, I've lost almost all of the German that I learned while there.

I've seen HCL a number of times and I don't get all the dialog. I'm a native English speaker too *l* well, that's reassuring :)).
I was in the Army and stationed in German for 2 and a half years, back in the 1970s. Wow.And that confirms it-no matter how good you speak the language,if you neglect it,it just goes away.
Love the icon!*g*

Ah, hi, akite! *waves*

I read this whole thread through and found it fancinating.

It IS! I'm in love with this thread!

I've seen HCL a number of times and I don't get all the dialog. I'm a native English speaker too.

*snort* They just don't want to be understood, do they?

I love the German language. I was in the Army and stationed in German for 2 and a half years, back in the 1970s.

Huh? And double huh. You and [livejournal.com profile] _divya_. Two in two days. Strange.

And you were in the Army? Wow. Where in Germany? And what did you do there? I mean, what was your job? If you don't mind telling me? *is curious*

Unfortunately, I've lost almost all of the German that I learned while there.

Another one. *g* I had the same thing with Russian. I learned it in school and I was pretty good. And now? I'm glad if I can recall all the letters.

Also, icon love!

[identity profile] nyn17.livejournal.com 2005-07-29 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)

[spam spam spam] *g*

Also, regarding speaking German. I think it's very hard, and for Americans (or Canadians) more so than for the English. The English don't seem to have that much trouble with pronunciation.

One really awful example of German speaking is Paul Gross in DMDTR. *g* It isn't correct grammatically and the pronunciation is so terrible that I didn't understand most of it until I read the transcript. :)

I was stationed outside Mannheim (Coleman Barracks at Sandhofen Wald) and lived for a short time in an apartment in Mannheim-Lampertheim. The title for what I did sure sounds fancy: Telecommunications Center Specialist, but mainly, I worked a teletype machine. When we were actually out in the field on training exercises doing our jobs. Other than that we hung around the motor pool and did maintenance on our trucks and equipment.

I still remember a few things in German like Guten Tag, bitte and danke. :g:

I was stationed outside Mannheim

A fried of mine lived there for a few years. Huh. That's so strange.

*looks up teletype machine*

Ah. Fernschreiber. *g*

I still remember a few things in German like Guten Tag, bitte and danke. :g:

Heh! That's about the same amount of words I remember in Russian. *g*
