airinshaw has been after me to read some Wheel of Time, but I hate potentially getting caught up in a series I know goes downhill. It's why I stopped after just the first Anita Blake book, even though I rather liked that one.
You haven't finished Liveship either? :D I've only got about half of the final book left, but I just cannot make myself go back. I skimmed it for the Amber parts and that's as good as it's going to get, I think. The shifting POV really does not work for me in that series. Every time I start to get drawn in by one character she moves on to someone else and then it happens again with that character and it all cycles slowly downward. They're not bad books! They're really quite good! But you're right, they fail at being about Fitz and the Fool and that is a hanging offense in my country.
