(no subject)

I have too much pics. Uploading them is exhausting *l*. So I'll be cutting it into two posts.

A view from Perperikon.

And that's the fortress's staircase. Seriously, these people were shorter than us, did they fly?! (Sorry about the sideways thing, I hadn't realized I was uploading it like that :/)

That's the top level of the fortress. There's a throne and a lot of graves and ritual carvings and such.

That's me with my idiotic hat ;P

The ancient Thracians knew how to live, yo. That's a huge pool, right there, on the top of the rocks. Ok, it was for drinking water, but still.

www.imgshare.eu
These were everywhere. I'm guessing they were for rituals or for astronomy. Or both.

Those tiny stairs are on the outer side of the wall. They reminded me of that part of The Chronicles Of Amber, where they were trying to take the fortress?mount? and were climbing up the narrow stairs one by one and fighting.

www.imgshare.eu
Did I mention that I wanna live in a fortress?

www.imgshare.eu
I don't know what that is.

www.imgshare.eu
That's up the road to another fortress(Monyak/Mneakos). It was on of the biggest and highest in the Rhodopes.

We're there now.

That's a dam lake down there.

What little is left of the walls.

Me and my sister.

That place was amazing. Too bad we had to hurry, cause it was getting dark and we didn't have a place to sleep yet :P

www.imgshare.eu
And that's the hut where we ended up for the night. No the one we had intended. Because we got misdirected in a bad way *grrr*. There went the Vulva/Womb cave. And that's not even our second, or third choice of a hut. Damn summer camps. We almost slept in the car there *lol*

I know it's probably stupid, but my nerves can't handle this right now :P. I get extremely annoyed when they pull that kind of misunderstandings in fiction. I'm talking about when, in the second book Aleksander let himself believe Seyonne had betrayed him. And after everything I wouldn't have thought that would be so easy! And my question is, is this going to last long? Cause if you say the fall out's gonna be for the whole book or something, I'm putting it right back in the "on hold" list *grumbles*. I did enjoy the first volume a lot, mainly for their interaction, so I'll finish the rest, sooner or later. But for once, I want to be spoiled :]

Pictures is pretty and so are you. :D

Okay, so about the books and without going into too much spoily detail: It's, um, not so much that there's continuous fall out or anything? Seyonne spends most of the book caught up in plot - with occasional emo musings on how much it sucks that Aleksander hates him now and everything - so Aleksander doesn't come back in until near the end. There's a fairly quick resolution after that, though, fwiw.

I was totally annoyed by that whole situation, too. Things like that always feel so inorganic to the world and the characters. It's glaringly obvious that the author needs some sort of conflict and just reaches in and manipulates things to get it.

Awww those are great pictures. I love that fort. Thanks for sharing.

The Rhodopes is my favourite mountain so far. :)
And *lol*, that must be some sort of karmic justice for my reaction here ...But thanks :D

Hee, thank you *blush* :D

*sigh* I wish she'd thought of a more plausible way to get to the conflict. I'll probably get back to the book whan I have time though.

Also, I hate hats. I am entirely capable of looking idiotic on my own, without the help of a hat, thank you ;P Unfortunately, the sun up there's too much even for me.

Thanks :) I'm glad they were interesting for others, too.
